Natural voids, cracks, and fissures in the timber are filled with clear or tinted resin — enhancing the slab rather than hiding it. The result adds depth and detail that makes each table even more individual.
A subtle touch that bridges the raw and the refined.

English and European oak is our most popular choice — and for good reason. The grain is bold, the colour warms beautifully over time, and it takes a hand-applied finish exceptionally well.
Honest, durable, and a natural fit for both modern and traditional interiors.

The slab you choose is the table. That's why we take timber selection seriously — reviewing each piece for grain pattern, figure, colour, and structural integrity before it ever reaches the workshop.
We're happy to walk you through the options so the right slab finds the right home.

Frequently asked
Honest answers to the questions buyers ask us most often before commissioning a bespoke RockVine live edge dining table.
RockVine live edge dining tables are quoted per project because every slab is unique. Pricing depends on size, the timber chosen, the slab character, and the base style. As a guide, smaller live edge dining tables typically start around £1,950, with larger statement pieces in figured walnut or ancient oak ranging £3,500 to £7,500 or more.
We work with British and European hardwoods sourced through trusted suppliers. Most popular choices are English oak, walnut, elm and ash. Each slab is hand-selected for its character, grain pattern, and natural live edge profile. Bespoke timber requests welcomed.
Properly prepared timber will not. Every slab is kiln-dried to a stable moisture content and acclimatised in our workshop before construction begins. We also stabilise any natural cracks or knots with epoxy resin where needed, so your table stays flat and structurally sound for decades.
Yes. Every RockVine live edge table is finished with a hard-wearing food-safe oil or satin lacquer that's water-resistant, stain-resistant and built for daily family life. Wipe spills promptly with a soft cloth. Use trivets for very hot pans. With basic care, the surface stays beautiful for decades.
Every table is made to order. Lengths from 1.6m to 3.0m, widths up to 1.4m (depending on slab availability), standard dining height 750mm. Longer slabs available on request. Round and oval live edge tables are also available alongside rectangular forms.
Lead time is typically 6 to 8 weeks from sign-off, depending on slab availability and finish complexity. We confirm a firm timeline as part of your quote and update you at each stage of the build.
