Two Live Edge Slabs, One Resin River

A resin river table is created by placing two - or more - live edge slabs face-to-face so their natural edges form the sides of a “river”. The gap between them is filled with poured resin, which cures into a perfectly smooth, glass-like central band.

At RockVine we commonly work with Oak, Cedar, Yew, Fir, Olive and Walnut, though we can source other hardwoods on request.

The resin isn’t just decorative. Once cured, it bonds the slabs together and adds cross-table strength, making resin river tables ideal for wide dining surfaces.

Why Choose a RockVine Resin River Table

Properly Seasoned 40–60mm Timber Slabs

We begin with solid slabs that have been correctly dried and stabilised, reducing future movement and ensuring a flat, long-lasting surface.

Choose from:
- Crystal-clear resin
- Subtle tinted resin
-Bold opaque colours
-Metallic or pearlescent effects

We can match or complement interior colours, brand colours, or existing furniture.

For deeper pours, we layer the resin to reduce heat, eliminate bubbles and achieve flawless clarity.

How We Build a RockVine Resin River Table

Step 1 — Slab Selection & Design

We choose suitable slabs, assess grain patterns and position them to create the ideal river shape.

We usually send you pictures & video at this crucial stage showing you the timber and the intended layout.

Step 2 — Mould Build & Preparation

We prepare a sealed mould to contain the resin and ensure crisp external edges.

Step 3 — Resin Pour & Curing

Resin is mixed to exact ratios and poured in stages when necessary to control curing and minimise bubbles.

Prior to pouring we will show you sample of the resin so you can approve it.

Step 4 — Flattening & Sanding

Once cured, the tabletop is removed, flattened and sanded through multiple grits.

Step 5 — Finishing

Timber is finished in oil, satin, gloss or matte. Resin is polished to a seamless match.

Step 6 — Base Fitment & Quality Checks

We mount, level and test the base, ensuring stability and finish consistency before delivery.

Yes. We can colour-match and create sample swatches if needed.

Does resin yellow over time?

We use furniture-grade, UV-stable resins designed to minimise yellowing.
