Polished concrete dining tables are designed to be exceptionally durable, but correct care will keep the surface looking perfect for decades. This guide explains exactly how to clean, protect and maintain a polished concrete dining table so it stays stain resistant, scratch resistant and beautiful in daily use.
Daily Cleaning
For everyday cleaning, simply wipe the surface with a soft microfibre cloth and warm water. Avoid abrasive pads or harsh household sprays as these can slowly wear the surface sealers.
Weekly Maintenance
Use a mild pH neutral cleaner once a week to remove grease build up and maintain the surface finish. This prevents dull patches and keeps the polish consistent across the table.
Spill And Stain Prevention
Although polished concrete is sealed, spills should be wiped promptly. Wine, coffee and acidic liquids left to sit for long periods can eventually mark the surface.
Heat Resistance And Protection
Polished concrete is naturally heat resistant, but we recommend using placemats or trivets under extremely hot cookware to preserve the protective sealers.
Scratch Resistance
High quality microcement systems are scratch resistant rather than scratch proof. Felt pads under chairs and decorative items will protect the surface finish long term.
Resealing And Long Term Care
With normal residential use, polished concrete dining tables may benefit from resealing every few years. This refreshes stain resistance and keeps the surface looking new.
