Commercial and multi-unit projects fail on logistics, not design. The best outcome comes from locking approvals early, batching sensibly, and delivering to the right place at the right time.
This post is the practical checklist we use with designers and developers.
Approval stage first, always
Agree dimensions, base geometry and finish direction, then lock it with an approval sample or prototype when repeatability matters.
Approvals reduce variation and prevent late changes from colliding with build programme pressure.
Batching and phased production
For rollouts, phased production keeps cashflow and site logistics manageable. It also lets you learn from early installs and refine the next batch.
Label each piece to plot/room and document any controlled variation (e.g., timber character) upfront.
Delivery windows and access planning
Confirm access constraints per phase: site rules, lift availability, storage space, and protection requirements.
Where site storage is limited, plan ‘just-in-time’ delivery and quick placement support.
Protection and handover
Handover quality depends on protection. Specify handling instructions, protective coverings and cleaning guidance for contractors.
Where tables sit in communal areas, plan for early protection and late-stage reveal.
If you’re working to a programme, tell us your phases and target dates — we’ll propose a batching and delivery plan that fits the build.
